It might be a good time to reevaluate how much responsibility students are currently be given when it comes to their learning and what structures and strategies could be employed or modified to support students in taking on greater amounts of responsibility.
One way to cultivate an environment of gratitude and positivity is by having students create and keep a gratitude journal (Sulla, 2018). Increasing awareness of gratitude and expressing appreciation are great ways to foster social and emotional learning.
